Using the craft of photography to evoke emotion and move people, I make images that create tension for the viewer, really focusing on one moment where there’s an explosion of action, or reaction, and the viewer hangs suspended in that moment. To do that, I approach every assignment with empathy and curiosity—telling the story from a unique perspective to capture, and hold, attention.
I started shooting sports professionally at age 19, working the sports beat for a daily newspaper and focusing on NCAA D1 hockey in northern Michigan. Since then, I’ve shot a marathon in the Sahara Desert, MLB Spring Training, NCAA Football, PRCA Rodeos, and USA Swimming, just to name a few.
